Recommended server configuration:

64-bit OS (Windows or Linux)
4-core CPU
8GB memory
Fast storage array (i.e. RAID)


VM is built as follows:
2 cpu cores
4GB memory
100GB Disk


1. Get vmware player from http://www.vmware.com/products/player/

2. Download the dbx VM image: dbxvm.zip

3. Unzip the downloaded VM image

4. Start Vmware player

5. Select "Open virtual machine"

6. Navigate to the downloaded VM image directory to file dbxvm2.ovf and import (make sure to select an appropriate path to fast storage)

7. Play the virtual machine

8. Login: dbxdba  Password: dbadbx

9. Start the DB server:  xdudb start dbxtest

10. From the command line, login to the database "test": xdusql sql dbxtest test

11. From a browser, login to the admin tool: http://dbxvm2:8080/xdadm
